SD8 Educational Leadership Changes for 2022/2023 School Year
Kudos to principals and vice-principals across SD8 who have led educators, school staff and students through another successful school year. As the year draws to a close on June 24, the district has a few more changes to announce.
Wildflower School
Beginning on August 1, 2022, Wildflower School in Creston will be led by Principal Laury Carriere. Principal Carriere will continue in her role as principal of Canyon Lister Elementary while she also leads Wildflower Creston. This change will provide an on-site principal in Creston for both schools and maintain K-7 instructional choices for Creston families. Principal Carriere is a well-known administrator in the Creston Family of Schools and will continue to embody the core Wildflower values of respect, courage, nourishment, understanding, humility, and empathy.
Principal Terpstra is looking forward to supporting students, staff, and families fulltime in Nelson.
Blewett Elementary
Jordon Konken will take on the role of principal for Blewett Elementary School on August 1, 2022. Mr. Konken is currently the vice-principal of Mount Sentinel Secondary School. He has served as vice-principal in SD8 since 2017 at Mount Sentinel, Trafalgar Middle, and L.V. Rogers secondary schools. Congratulations, Vice-principal Konken, soon to be Principal Konken!
Mount Sentinel Secondary School
Jennifer Adams will become vice-principal of Mount Sentinel Secondary School on August 1, 2022. Ms. Adams has served as vice-principal in SD8 since 2020 at Homelinks and previously as a vice-principal at Mormon Hills School. Congratulations, Vice-principal Adams!
