September School Spirit

The Mt. Sentinel Wildcats are roaring with school spirit!  Thank you to our Student Council, student leaders and teacher leaders that helped make school Spirit Day a wonderful celebration.

Early in the week, students were grouped into house teams that were organized by color. Team leaders rallied students to meet during a busy first week of school to design team banners, a team dance and team cheers. Friday’s Spirit Day kicked off with a pancake breakfast served with the support of our Friday Breakfast volunteers. Throughout the day, students and staff were busy putting the final touches on preparing for the afternoon spirit activities. Juniors and seniors participated in some friendly competition in events like an obstacle race, group cheer competition, lemon eating contest and a new event – hotdog eating competition.  No previous skills or experience was required for any event!

It was a great start to the year.  We were proud to watch our students cheer each other on and the role that some of our senior students stepped into to encourage and support our younger learners in the school.
