Woodworking 9 to 12 class with Mr. Shaw has been busy exploring the design and build cycle with new and returning students to the program.  Mr. Shaw was able to secure a donation of cedar wood - a material ideal for small exploratory projects including bird houses and bat houses. The students were excited by the challenge to draft and design a creative and unique design to build with both hand and power tools.  The next project and design challenge is a bat house.  Students will have the opportunity to work with a member from our community to learn more about bats and why bat houses are an important way to support bats and the ecosystem that bats are a part of.
